When I was in school, my parents decided to renovate our kitchen and living room. It was time for a change. Our house was built in the 1950’s and the kitchen was very retro. We were in desperate need of an update. When any plans, designs approved, and contracts are written, the work finally began. We were basically banished to the basement for 4 months as they tore apart and rebuilt much of the upstairs. We only had a small fridge in the laundry room in the basement. All our hot meals that are cooked in a clay pot. It was a strange time in my life, away from a normal life to a less fulfilling, more restrictive style. I think I tried to block from my memory.
Remodeling, from Atlanta to Seattle, can be a nightmare. Of course, you expect to go from a place outside the area is redeveloped and is limited to, perhaps only a small part of your home, if not an entirely different accommodation, all together. But there will be noise, dust and debris. Your beautiful lawn can be sacrificed for the storage of waste intended for the disposal of containers or construction equipment. It will be strange men, and play through your home with heavy boots, music and loud voices. How long it takes for the project to be completed, you probably will not really desire to be in your home.
This takes us to another inconvenience. The phrase however long it takes has a whole new meaning when it comes to rebuilding. In your written contract, there will be an end date. You can expect that day to obtain pushed back at least two or three times. Your builders will run in to unforeseen problems in the structure of your home. Some important material or hardware will not be obtained in time, and thus put the finish date behind schedule. Perhaps your employees are not as productive as they could be, and then they simply not get the job done in time. This, of course, increases the frustration of the fact that they have already taken over and made a mess of your house.
Although I have experienced these and other disadvantages, to our own home remodeling experience, the final product was well worth the wait. Remodeling, Atlanta to Seattle, is always a nuisance, but more often than not, the end product will justify the pain. the
